'NITES was a music blog that covered local bands in Austin, Texas.
Local journalist and multimedia producer AJ Miranda launched this blog in the summer of 2008 with the goal of spotlighting the unsigned bands he loved but felt were invisible in the local entertainment media.
'NITES started as a YouTube account (youtube.com/nitesatx) and eventually became this blog. Show previews, concert photos and free mp3s soon followed.
In this blog's glory days, it was the subject of writeups in the local media, including features and interviews about 'NITES in the Daily Texan, Republic of Austin and Do512 Blog. Those glory days have since passed; 'NITES, the blog, was retired in 2011, but its intent and spirit lives on through social media.

Youtube Videos
At youtube.com/nitesatx, you can watch nearly 300 live concert videos of Austin bands, shot from July 2008 to September 2010.
For more than 30 years, the biannual Pecan Street Festival has been an Austin tradition, bringing in 300,000 Austinites together to enjoy the city's live music, film, and food scenes in one place: Sixth Street (once known as Pecan Street). The fest takes place all day today and tomorrow, and it's free. It's a great family event but is also hipster-friendly, considering the music lineup. The Black and White Years headline today's leg of the festival. See Saturday and Sunday's the schedules below, along with some videos of bands playing the fest.
Check out videos of some of the bands on the bill...
